Veritus: AI lending agents with compliance and borrower context

Veritus provides omnichannel AI agents for lending applications, servicing and collections across voice, SMS, email and chat.

Published · Updated

Veritus is building AI agents for the part of consumer lending where every conversation has a cost and a compliance boundary. Its buyer is a lender, servicer, fintech or collection agency that wants one system for borrower contact across voice, SMS, email and chat, with the rules and account context attached.

What it does

The current Veritus site describes an omnichannel platform for loan applications, servicing and collections. It says the same context follows a borrower across channels and that agents can handle payment plans, settlements and follow-up. The site also publishes a case study claiming Splash Financial converts 20% more qualified applicants than its human baseline, while its collections examples report that one in five calls at AWA end in a payment and that the platform reaches a 71% containment rate. Those are company-reported results, not an independent benchmark.

Veritus also makes a strong control claim: the platform says it applies TCPA call windows, Reg F frequency caps, FDCPA convenient-time presumptions and state AI-disclosure requirements at the platform layer. Its site lists PCI DSS, ISO, HIPAA, EU AI Act and SOC 2 Type 2 under security and compliance, with a linked trust center. Treat those as claims to validate in diligence, not as a substitute for the lender’s own legal and compliance review.

Why I’d look closer

The public founder context is relevant. The YC profile identifies Joshua March as a serial founder whose Conversocial business was acquired by Verint, and describes David Schlesinger and Joseph Stein as startup operators with experience at Divvy Homes, Cloudflare and a company acquired by Fitbit/Google. That mix maps to customer-service software and lending operations, though it does not prove compliance coverage.

The advantage is vertical context: a lender can compare a configurable agent platform with a generic voice tool that leaves rules, disclosures and account state to the buyer. The tradeoff is that collections automation touches vulnerable borrowers and regulated communications. “Zero human involvement” is a product claim that should trigger more questions, not fewer.

What I’d ask

Which borrower actions can an agent complete without approval? How are consent, disputes, hardship signals, call windows, opt-outs and human escalation recorded? Can a lender replay the exact policy and account context used for a payment-plan offer? Which certifications and controls apply to our tenant, data path and chosen channel?

My editorial take

Shortlist Veritus if servicing or collections cost is blocking growth and you are prepared to own a serious compliance program. The relevant buying decision is not whether the demo sounds human. It is whether the platform makes every automated contact reviewable, bounded and reversible enough for the lender’s obligations.
