Symphony: Insurance training, assistance and workflow automation

Symphony gives insurance frontline teams voice simulations, live AI guidance and workflow automation for claims and customer operations.

Published · Updated

Symphony is an AI platform for insurance frontline training, assistance and workflow automation. It fits carriers and third-party administrators that need claims and customer-facing employees to practice difficult conversations, receive live guidance and complete routine work with a consistent record.

What it does

Symphony’s current site describes three connected products. Training uses voice, video or text roleplay to let adjusters practice real scenarios. Augment provides live recommendations, prior-interaction context, negotiation guidance and help with data entry, decisioning and fraud detection. Automate handles calls, facts-of-loss capture and next steps.

The platform is insurance-specific rather than a generic conversation simulator. The homepage says it adapts to each carrier’s products, processes and compliance needs, integrates with existing systems and can deploy in days. It displays public claims of 27% faster speed-to-proficiency, a 17% increase in seven-day close rates, a 32% average loss-payment improvement and 97% rep satisfaction. These are company-published results, not independent benchmarks.

The current business is a meaningful evolution from the older YC launch, which described a voice AI recruiter for customer-facing roles. The current homepage and careers page consistently describe insurance training, augmentation and automation, so that is the current buyer surface; the recruiting launch should remain historical context rather than be blended into the product description.

Founder context and tradeoffs

The YC profile identifies Murtaza Ali and Shobhit Srivastava as founders. Murtaza’s public background includes McKinsey and growth leadership at Tractable; Shobhit’s includes full-stack engineering and a tech-lead role at Valon. That combination fits enterprise sales and regulated workflow implementation.

Pricing is not public. A carrier should ask which systems are integrated, how roleplay scenarios reflect actual policy, how recommendations are reviewed, where customer data is stored and what the SOC 2 Type II claim covers. Live guidance can improve consistency, but it cannot replace claims judgment or a carrier’s compliance controls.

Editorial take

I would shortlist Symphony for an insurer with a measurable training or claims-handling bottleneck and enough volume to compare proficiency and quality before and after deployment. Start with one adjuster workflow and a small library of failure scenarios. If the carrier only wants generic onboarding content, the insurance-specific system may be excessive.
