Reticular’s current public product is reproductive-gene screening. Its older YC material describes a different, earlier research direction, so the transition matters.

## What it does now

The current [Reticular website](https://reticular.com/) sells an at-home saliva panel for people planning a pregnancy, navigating infertility or looking for more information after recurrent pregnancy loss. The company says it screens 750+ reproductive genes, sends a kit to one or both partners, and includes genetic-counselor review. It also presents embryo reports for people who already have compatible embryo data.

The current purchase path is concrete: one-partner testing is listed at $250 and testing both partners at $500. The site says results are typically expected about three weeks after the sample reaches the lab, and it publishes a no-reportable-finding refund policy with eligibility terms. These are company-stated product terms, not a medical recommendation or independent clinical evaluation.

## The important context

The [YC profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/reticular) and its linked launch material describe Reticular as genomic AI for embryo selection and a protein-engineering research platform. The current homepage is a consumer reproductive-genetics product. I would not merge the old protein-design story into the current buyer pitch. The better reading is that the company’s public product and positioning have moved toward a direct-to-consumer reproductive-health workflow.

The public page is unusually clear about the human boundary. A report is presented as information to review with a genetic counselor and care team, not a diagnosis or treatment plan. That distinction is essential in a health product.

## My editorial take

Shortlist Reticular if you want a clearly priced at-home screening path with counseling included and you understand that the result needs clinical context. It is not a replacement for a fertility evaluation, and the current site does not claim that a finding predicts whether someone will conceive. The strongest product decision is the handoff: the company sells a test and an explanation, then leaves medical decisions with the care team.
