Nomi: Real-time sales coaching with a playbook behind it
Nomi guides sales reps during live calls and turns recordings, transcripts and outcomes into a shared sales playbook.
Published · Updated
Nomi is a real-time sales copilot for reps who need help during the call, not another meeting transcript after it ends.
What it does
Nomi’s homepage positions the product around live battle cards, objection handling and coaching. The YC profile says it uses transcribed sales calls and a custom playbook to suggest phrases and questions while the conversation is happening.
The product also includes an asynchronous layer: recordings, transcripts, summaries, calendar sync, CRM updates and a sales playbook that learns from winning calls. That combination matters. The live assistant helps with the moment; the post-call layer helps the team standardize what good looks like.
Pricing and fit
Nomi’s pricing page starts at $99/month for real-time call guidance and lists enterprise plans. The company’s launch material says the free note-taking layer includes unlimited recordings and transcripts, though those terms should be refreshed before purchase.
The buyer is a founder-led or sales-led team with a repeatable call motion and enough call volume to justify intervention. A team with no playbook may get suggestions, but it has not yet given Nomi much to learn from. A team with a strong playbook can use the product to make objections, questions and close timing more consistent.
The public claim that Nomi increases closing rates by 12% on average is company-reported. Its launch record also gives one customer example moving from $100K to $360K in two weeks. Neither is an independent measurement or a reason to promise the same result to a new buyer.
What I’d ask
How much latency is acceptable before a rep stops trusting the prompt? Does the system show the source in the playbook? Can a manager audit bad suggestions? What data is retained, and how are calls handled across jurisdictions? Those questions matter more than the demo’s ability to produce a clever line.
There is also a human tradeoff. Real-time coaching can help a new rep and distract an experienced one. The product needs a clear way to stay quiet when the playbook has no reliable answer.
My editorial take
I would shortlist Nomi for a sales team with a defined motion, recurring objections and enough recorded calls to improve a playbook. I would not buy it as a substitute for positioning or sales training. The useful bet is that the best call advice can become a shared operating memory instead of staying inside one top rep’s head.
