Lucis is trying to turn routine blood work into a long-term health companion for Europe.

## What it does

The current [Lucis homepage](https://www.lucis.life/) describes a membership that combines blood testing, wearables, health scores, personalized actions and partner labs. It says members can track 110+ data points, receive a first report in about three weeks and use more than 450 partner labs in Europe. The workflow is clear: share goals and history, connect data, get tested, understand the result and discuss the next step.

The [developer page](https://www.lucis.life/developers) is a useful product boundary. Lucis publishes a public biomarker catalog and machine-readable API material, but says it does not publish a member API or MCP server. The public catalog is not personal health data. That distinction matters for anyone evaluating Lucis as an agent-readable health product.

## Why I’d look closer

Lucis is not selling a single blood test. It is selling continuity: repeat checks, a personal baseline, and guidance that can be discussed with a clinician. The company says its content is educational and does not replace medical advice. That is the right boundary for a consumer health product, even if the marketing language is ambitious.

The founders’ public context is compact but relevant. The YC profile describes Max Berthelot as CEO and Baptiste Debever as CTO, with Baptiste previously an engineer at Gorgias. The public site also says Lucis brings together medical expertise, data and technology. Those facts explain the product shape; they do not certify clinical outcomes.

## What I’d ask

I would ask which partner labs serve your country, what happens when a result needs clinical follow-up, how wearable data is used, and which recommendations are rules versus medical review. The public page displays member and Trustpilot numbers, but I would treat those as company/site-presented signals until independently checked.

## My editorial take

Shortlist Lucis if you want a recurring preventive-health workflow and are comfortable discussing results with qualified professionals. It is less suited to someone looking for a one-off diagnosis or a substitute for a doctor. The useful product decision is whether the ongoing context is worth more than a conventional test and a PDF report.

This is a descriptive health-product profile, not medical advice.

## Cohort context

Lucis is listed in Spring 2025. In our 2026-09-18 directory snapshot, 10 of 143 listed companies in that cohort have YC’s primary industry label Healthcare (7.0%). This is a current-directory comparison, not an original intake count or a performance ranking. [Nine-cohort dataset](https://mudpie.ai/research/yc-cohorts-2026-09-19.json).
