Lance: AI agents across the hotel guest and operations loop

Lance provides hotel receptionist, sales, guest messaging and operations agents that work across calls, property systems and staff tasks.

Published · Updated

Lance builds AI agents that run hotel operations. It fits hotel groups with lean teams and fragmented property systems where calls, sales inquiries, housekeeping requests, maintenance and guest communication create too many manual handoffs.

What it does

Lance’s public record describes a receptionist agent that answers calls and completes requests, a sales agent that qualifies inbound inquiries and RFPs, and a tablet-first operations hub for coordinating property work. Its launch adds computer-use agents that can navigate older PMS/CRS systems and keep a request synced from guest message to action to completion.

The product decision is whether a hotel wants AI to execute inside the systems it already has. The use cases are specific: towels, late checkout, maintenance, parking, directions, booking inquiries and property tasks. Lance says it supports more than 50 hotels across brands including Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt; that is a company/YC claim, not an independent deployment audit.

Pricing is not public. A hotel group should ask how permissions work across properties, when an agent escalates, how guest data and recordings are handled, whether the PMS/CRS integration can write safely and how staff can see the full resolution trail. Computer-use flexibility is valuable when APIs are weak, but it raises a higher testing and rollback bar.

Founder context and tradeoffs

The YC profile identifies Caleb Chan as CEO, with product and founding-engineering experience at Silicon Valley Commerce, Google and Salesforce; Gavin Brennen as COO, with AI-agent and customer-facing roles; and Gatik Trivedi as CTO, with speech research and agent infrastructure experience.

Editorial take

I would shortlist Lance for a multi-property hotel group with after-hours call volume and measurable operations bottlenecks. Start with one property, one request family and a clear escalation policy. If the hotel already has a strong front desk and only wants a FAQ bot, the operating-system pitch may be too broad.
