Knowlify: turn company documents into narrated explainer videos
Self-serve and managed AI video production for onboarding, training, product education, marketing, and internal communications.
Published · Updated
Knowlify turns documents, ideas, and slide decks into narrated animated explainer videos. The buyer decision is whether a team needs a repeatable video layer for training, onboarding, product education, or internal communication without waiting on a designer, animator, or agency.
What it does
Knowlify offers a self-serve platform that turns uploaded material into a video and a managed Content Yard studio that writes, storyboards, animates, and delivers the result. Its public positioning covers onboarding, learning and development, training, marketing, customer education, and internal communications (Knowlify homepage; YC launch).
| Fact | What the public sources say |
|---|---|
| Buyer | L&D, onboarding, marketing, communications, customer-education, and training teams |
| Workflow | Document or idea to narrated animated video, with self-serve editing or managed production |
| Public pricing | Free; Pro from $29/month; Max from $99/month; Enterprise custom |
| Studio model | Managed production can deliver a final video in as little as 72 hours |
| Founders | Jonathan Maynard, Ritam Rana, Arjun Talati, and Ritvik Varada |
Why it fits
The product addresses a content-conversion problem. Companies already have SOPs, product documentation, safety procedures, patient instructions, and internal updates; the gap is turning that material into something people will watch. The two-track model is sensible: self-serve for everyday volume, studio help for a launch or high-stakes training piece.
The speed, customer, and learner-impact language is company-published. A buyer should test factual preservation, narration, accessibility, language support, revision control, brand templates, source citations, and the privacy of uploaded documents. The pricing page says one credit is one second of video, so the real cost depends on length and model mix (Knowlify pricing).
The founders say they started from the education problem of dense material nobody absorbs and then followed demand from business teams. YC identifies Talati as product lead and Varada as a former WorldQuant quant; the public record gives less professional detail for the other founders (YC profile).
Short version: Knowlify is a good fit for teams with a large document backlog and a clear audience for video. Start with one training asset and compare comprehension and maintenance cost against the existing PDF or slide deck.
