## What it does

Finto is an AI finance platform for enterprise accounting teams. Its agents extract and validate invoice data, route approvals, handle deviations and post entries into existing ERP systems. The [YC profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/finto-de) describes AI accounting for enterprise finance teams; the [current homepage](https://www.gofinto.com/) names SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, DATEV and industry ERPs as integration targets and emphasizes auditability and human control.

The fit is a finance organization processing enough invoice volume that email, manual data entry and exception handling are limiting close speed. Finto is not a replacement for an ERP. It is a layer around the operational work that happens before a clean journal entry reaches the ERP, which makes integration, approval policy and audit trails more important than the extraction demo.

## Why I’d look closer

Finto publishes concrete operating claims: a 90% no-touch rate, 5x throughput per accountant, less than two days from receipt to journal entry and 80% cost reduction per invoice. These are company-reported homepage figures, not an independent benchmark. The useful test is whether a finance team can reproduce the exception policy and see why an invoice was accepted, rejected or routed to a human.

The product also makes a clear enterprise posture claim. The homepage says Finto is GDPR compliant and does not train LLMs on customer data. It advertises full control and auditability, but the sources checked did not expose a public security report or fixed price card. The [About page](https://www.gofinto.com/about-us) says the founders previously helped build procurement and logistics companies that raised more than $75M from Sequoia, Index and Insight Partners; that is founder/company context, not Finto funding or customer proof.

## What I’d ask

Which ERPs, invoice languages and approval policies are live? Can a controller inspect the source document, extraction, validation rule and final journal entry in one audit trail? I’d run a month of invoices with deliberate edge cases—duplicate invoices, tax exceptions, missing purchase orders and multi-line allocations—and compare touch rate and close time to the current process.

## My editorial take

Finto is a good fit for enterprise finance teams that want automation inside an existing accounting stack. The public product surface is specific and the ERP boundary is clear. I’d trust the system only after its exception handling is more transparent than the headline no-touch rate.
