Cuckoo Labs is for global sales, marketing and support teams that need live interpretation to preserve technical context, not just translate general conversation. It works inside meetings and can learn the organization’s vocabulary from documents and keywords.

## What it does

Cuckoo’s current product supports live translation in Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, Microsoft Teams, mobile and desktop. Teams can brief it with pitch decks, API docs, manuals and internal terminology, then choose the languages they want in a meeting. The public site also describes document translation that keeps brand and team context across markets. [Cuckoo homepage](https://www.cuckoo.so/) [Cuckoo documents](https://www.cuckoo.so/documents)

The advantage is the context layer. A global solutions engineer or partner team may need product terms, acronyms and troubleshooting details to survive a multilingual call; a generic translation tool often knows the language but not the business. Cuckoo says it supports 20-plus languages on Professional and adapts to industry keywords and glossaries.

The public pricing page lists Professional at $100 per month with unlimited usage, online and offline meetings and a personal dictionary. Teams is $100 per user per month for two or more seats and adds concurrent sessions, shared transcripts and team workspaces. Enterprise is custom with custom models, dictionary integrations, SSO, IP allowlists, audit logs and RBAC. [Cuckoo pricing](https://www.cuckoo.so/pricing)

The tradeoff is communication risk. Buyers should test technical names, accents, interruption handling, transcript retention and how uploaded documents are protected. The company’s customer examples and testimonials are company-selected; they are useful fit signals, not an independent translation-accuracy study.

The [YC profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/cuckoo-labs) identifies Gunwoo Kim as a former ride-hailing founder and KAIST computer-science graduate and Yong Hee Lee as a GTM operator with KAIST engineering and policy training.

## My editorial take

I would shortlist Cuckoo for recurring cross-language customer or partner work where technical vocabulary is the main source of friction. Start with one language pair and a controlled meeting type, then inspect transcripts and terminology corrections before rolling it into sensitive negotiations. For casual conversation, the $100 plan may be more product than the need requires.
