CopyCat AI currently builds insurance proposal software for brokers: carrier PDFs in, branded proposals and cited coverage comparisons out. The buyer decision is whether an agency wants a source-linked document workflow around its own templates—or another generic browser automation tool. The current website is the stronger guide to the product today; the YC launch describes an earlier browser-agent positioning.

## What it does

CopyCat extracts quote and policy details, compares coverage, checks policies and contracts, generates branded proposals, and supports employee-benefits workbooks. The homepage shows source citations back to carrier pages, editable agency templates, shared workspaces, and a review process before a document reaches the client ([CopyCat homepage](https://www.runcopycat.com/); [YC profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/copycat-ai)).

| Fact | What the public sources say |
| --- | --- |
| Buyer | Commercial, personal-lines, and employee-benefits insurance agencies |
| Workflow | Carrier quote extraction, branded proposals, quote comparison, policy checking, and contract review |
| Public usage claim | The homepage says more than 2,000 proposals have been generated and more than 7 hours are saved weekly |
| Evidence | Outputs can cite the source document and page; customers review and edit before sending |
| Founders | Abhi Balijepalli and Graham Sabin |

## Why it fits

The product is valuable where an agency's expertise is trapped in documents. A broker can keep the agency's format and recommendation while CopyCat does the repetitive work of extracting carrier language, lining up limits, and making discrepancies visible. Source citations are especially important when a client or producer needs to trace a number back to a policy page.

The usage and time-saved figures are company claims, as are the broker testimonials displayed on the site ([CopyCat homepage](https://www.runcopycat.com/)). A buyer should test layered and multi-line accounts, exclusions, endorsements, renewal changes, ACORD and AMS handoffs, benefits workbooks, and how corrections propagate across a template. Pricing was not published in the reviewed sources. The broker still owns the recommendation and coverage judgment.

The founders have done more than build generic automation. CopyCat says Balijepalli and Sabin built the product alongside brokers, both took the commercial broker exam, and their families have worked in insurance brokerage ([CopyCat about page](https://www.runcopycat.com/about)). The earlier YC launch describes browser agents built for manual workflows; the current insurance product is a concrete vertical application of that capability.

Short version: CopyCat is a strong fit for an agency producing many proposals and comparisons from heterogeneous carrier PDFs. Start with a difficult renewal and verify every cited number before expanding the workflow.
