autarc is an operating system for energy installers working across heat pumps and solar projects. It fits a growing installer that needs one workflow from lead intake and design through quotes, funding, field documentation and maintenance instead of stitching together office, planning and site tools.

## What it does

[autarc’s current platform](https://www.autarc.energy/global) combines office operations, LiDAR capture, heat-pump and PV planning, an AI phone agent, customer portals and construction-site documentation. The planning module records buildings with an iPhone or iPad, supports heat-load calculation and hydraulic balancing, and produces system designs tied to stated DIN and VDI workflows. The office module covers customers, quotes, project communication and funding support.

The useful buyer decision is whether the installer’s bottleneck is fragmented work rather than a lack of leads. autarc says the platform can reduce queries by 75%, save up to 12 hours in order processing and document every step. The homepage also says more than 2,000 contractors trust the product and that customers report 10–12 hours saved in planning. These are company-published claims, not an independent time study.

The YC profile and [launch](https://www.ycombinator.com/launches/LoX-autarc-the-os-for-heat-pump-installers) add historical context: the company launched in Germany around heat-pump installation and reported 380 customers and seven-digit ARR at launch. The current product has broadened to solar and a full installer operating system, so a buyer should confirm which modules are live in its market.

## Founder context and tradeoffs

The YC profile identifies Etienne-Noel Krause, Thies Hansen and Marius Seufzer as founders. Their public backgrounds span HVAC, process optimization, startups and Apple/iOS engineering. That mix maps to the operational problem, but installers still need to verify local standards, subsidy workflows and hardware support.

Pricing is not public. The buyer should ask which Apple devices support LiDAR, how offline field work syncs, who reviews AI design suggestions and which legal documents are generated for the relevant country. An all-in-one system can reduce handoffs, but it also makes migration and data ownership more important.

## Editorial take

I would shortlist autarc for a heat-pump or solar installer with enough project volume to measure planning time and office handoffs. Start with one project type and one region. If the company only needs a CRM or has no repeatable design process, the broader operating system will be harder to justify.
