&AI is a patent-litigation workspace for teams that need prior-art research, claim charts, and draft work product to move together. The buyer decision is whether to use a credit-metered AI workspace for repeatable litigation work, while keeping attorney judgment over search strategy, claim construction, and final arguments.

## What it does

&AI says it searches patents, non-patent literature, and product evidence; compares inventive elements; builds cited claim charts; drafts invalidity contentions, expert-report material, and pitch documents; and lets a team refine the work in a shared editor. The product also includes patent-family and prosecution-history context, natural-language tables, and a feed for potential litigation opportunities ([&AI homepage](https://www.tryandai.com/); [YC launch](https://www.ycombinator.com/launches/LIr-ai-automate-patent-due-diligence-in-an-instant)).

| Fact | What the public sources say |
| --- | --- |
| Buyer | Patent litigators, in-house IP teams, and technology-forward law firms |
| Core work | Prior-art search, claim charts, evidence-of-use analysis, drafts, and portfolio review |
| Public pricing | Pay as you go at $0.40/credit; Pro at $625/user/month with 2,500 credits; Enterprise custom |
| Trial | The pricing page offers a 7-day free trial |
| Founders | Caleb Harris and Herbert Turner |

## Why it fits

The useful distinction is the connected workflow. Instead of exporting a search into one tool and building a claim chart somewhere else, &AI keeps evidence, claims, templates, and collaboration in one workspace. That is most compelling for a firm that repeats similar diligence across matters or an in-house team that needs a fast first pass before spending senior attorney time.

The credit model makes cost visible but variable. The company gives recent averages of 241 credits for a claim chart and 176 for a prior-art search; a large matter can therefore cost more than the seat price suggests ([&AI pricing](https://www.tryandai.com/pricing)). Enterprise adds SSO, role-based access, custom integrations, and single-tenant or self-hosted model options. The homepage says &AI is SOC 2 Type II certified and offers zero-retention settings; those claims are company-published, so procurement should still request the trust-center detail and contract terms ([&AI security](https://www.tryandai.com/)).

The founder context fits the wedge. YC describes Harris as having done technical consulting in patent litigation and ML research at MIT, while Turner worked on applied ML, fine-tuned LLMs at Google, and was a founding engineer at Kino AI ([YC company profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/ai-2)). That supports the product's legal-plus-technical orientation, not the accuracy of any generated argument.

Short version: &AI is worth a trial for a patent team with recurring search and chart work. It is not a substitute for attorney review, and a buyer should price a real matter rather than extrapolate from a demo.
