Acolite: Construction insurance with a broker-led AI workflow

Acolite combines construction insurance brokerage, carrier comparison and AI-assisted paperwork for contractors.

Published · Updated

Acolite is a construction-insurance brokerage with AI behind the workflow and licensed brokers in front of the decision. It fits contractors whose coverage, COIs or endorsements are slowing down work.

What it does

Acolite’s homepage says it serves contractors across all 50 states, shops 10-plus carriers and can return quote options in about two business hours. Its public coverage pages include general liability, builder’s risk, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella and excess, and tools and equipment.

The product is more specific than “insurance for construction.” It reads policies, reviews contract requirements, checks additional-insured and waiver language, prepares submissions and helps produce Certificates of Insurance. The company says a licensed broker remains part of the process. That is the right boundary for a regulated purchase: faster preparation and comparison, not a bot silently deciding what a contractor should bind.

Why I’d look closer

The founder-market fit is unusually direct. The YC profile describes Daniel Siryakov as a former AI product manager and machine-learning engineer, and Barak Ben Noon as the technical co-founder. Acolite’s about page identifies Daniel as a licensed insurance broker serving contractors across all 50 states.

The public site also has practical state and trade guides: roofing, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and others, plus state-specific clauses and endorsements. That is useful distribution for a product whose buyer often starts with a contract requirement rather than a software search.

What could make it the wrong choice

Insurance terms depend on the contractor, project, state, carrier and contract language. A “same-day” quote or COI is not the same thing as the right coverage. The public site says quotes are typically returned within two business hours and COIs can arrive in under 60 seconds once holder details are available; those are company claims, not independent service-level evidence.

The buyer should ask which carrier is actually writing the risk, what exclusions changed, who reviews the recommendation and how renewals or claims are handled.

My editorial take

I would shortlist Acolite for construction companies that treat insurance as an operating bottleneck, especially when a GC or customer is waiting on a COI or endorsement. It is less relevant to a software founder looking for a generic AI broker. The product’s advantage is the combination of trade-specific knowledge, faster paperwork and a human broker who still owns the insurance conversation.
