10x is built for a dental practice with a full recall list and a front desk that cannot consistently work it. It is not a new patient-acquisition channel; it is a revenue-recovery layer for patients already in the practice-management system.

## What it does

10x connects to a practice’s PMS, identifies overdue hygiene patients and other unfinished treatment opportunities, then uses two-way calls and texts to keep the conversation moving. When a patient is ready, the company says the agent books from live availability and writes the confirmed appointment back into the schedule. Its homepage lists integrations including Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Curve, CareStack and others. [10x homepage](https://www.10xdental.com/)

The product’s advantage is operational completion. A reminder creates another task for the front desk; 10x is designed to find the patient, handle objections and put the cleaning on the calendar. The company publishes a comparison claiming 16% conversion on an overdue recall list versus 3% for a busy front desk, or 5.3 times higher. It also displays practice case studies with additional production and scheduled-patient counts. These are company-reported figures, not an independent dental benchmark. ## Price and constraints

The public pricing table lists Hygiene Recall at $970 per month, with discounts available for groups, multi-location practices and buying organizations. [10x pricing](https://www.10xdental.com/) That makes the fit fairly concrete: the practice needs enough recoverable production to justify a fixed monthly fee, and it needs a recall list that is accurate enough to contact.

The integration is the risk. Confirm the exact PMS permissions, how appointments are selected, how cancellations and reschedules are handled, and what happens when a patient asks a clinical question. 10x says patient data is encrypted in transit and at rest and that it signs a BAA to support HIPAA obligations; those are company statements, not a third-party security assessment.

The [YC profile](https://www.ycombinator.com/companies/10x) identifies Max Bohun as CEO and Aman Garg as CTO, with Garg previously building GradeWiz. That context explains the company’s software orientation, but the buying decision still turns on recall quality, schedule access and patient consent.

## My editorial take

I would shortlist 10x for a practice that can quantify overdue hygiene demand and has open chair capacity. Start with one location and compare booked, attended and production-generating appointments—not just outbound messages. If the schedule is already full, the recall list is stale or staff must manually repair every booking, the advertised recovery math will not translate into useful capacity.

## Cohort context

10x is listed in Winter 2025. In our 2026-09-18 directory snapshot, 11 of 165 listed companies in that cohort have YC’s primary industry label Healthcare (6.7%). This is a current-directory comparison, not an original intake count or a performance ranking. [Nine-cohort dataset](https://mudpie.ai/research/yc-cohorts-2026-09-19.json).
